The Path to Conscious Living

I am often asked how and why did I choose the name of my practice as "Becoming Conscious Beings'. Well the one line answer is

I have experienced it to believe in what it says.

How I did that, is what I write in this blog.

When I first started exploring the idea of conscious wellbeing, I realized it was more than just a buzzword. It’s a journey - a path that invites us to step into a fuller, richer experience of life. This path is about stepping into our inner world; Understanding our emotions, and nurturing our mental health and overall well-being with intention and care. It’s about moving beyond simply surviving and stepping into a space where we truly thrive.

Exploring Conscious Wellbeing

Conscious wellbeing is a holistic approach to health that combines awareness, mindfulness, and intentional living. It’s about tuning into your body, mind, and spirit, and making choices that support your overall balance. It's a very intricate dance of all your dynamic part, really.

Here’s what I’ve understood about conscious wellbeing that might help you on your journey:

  • Mindfulness is key: Practicing mindfulness means being present in the moment without judgment. It helps reduce stress and increases your ability to respond thoughtfully to life’s challenges. And it's not to always having to sit down in silence with yourself, No. It's about in the moment observing without judgment: you, your environment and your interaction with the elements.

  • Emotional awareness matters: Recognizing and naming your emotions allows you to process them healthily rather than suppressing or ignoring them. Seeing each emotion as a feeling common to experience in their life, and not judge it.

  • Self-care is essential: Prioritizing rest, nutrition, and activities that bring you joy replenishes your energy and resilience.

  • It is often difficult to practice resting due to our conditioned beliefs of 'earning rest' (Read about it here, and ways to tackle it)

  • Connection fuels wellbeing: Building supportive relationships and community strengthens your sense of belonging and emotional safety.

By integrating these insights into your daily life, you create a foundation for sustained wellbeing.

It’s not about perfection but progress

Small, consistent steps that add up over time.

What does it mean to be consciously aware?

Being consciously aware means living with intention and clarity. It’s about noticing your thoughts, feelings, and actions without getting lost in autopilot. When you are consciously aware, you can make choices that align with your true values and needs.

For example, instead of reacting impulsively to stress, you pause, breathe, and decide how to respond in a way that supports your wellbeing. This awareness opens the door to greater emotional regulation and resilience.

Here are some practical ways to cultivate conscious awareness:

  1. Daily check-ins: Take a few moments each day to ask yourself how you’re feeling and what you need.

  2. Mindful breathing: Use simple breathing techniques to anchor yourself in the present moment.

  3. Journaling: Write down your thoughts and emotions to gain clarity and insight.

  4. Body scan meditation: Tune into physical sensations to connect with your body’s messages.

By practicing these techniques, you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns. This self-knowledge empowers you to make healthier choices and nurture your mental health.
